A fan page started in 2013. A community built around the Bulldogs. More than a decade later, the same idea carries into a new chapter.
The beginning · 2013
Where it
started.
StarkVegas Report began during the 2013 Mississippi State football season. Founder Gavin Logazino was in seventh grade.
He wanted a place to share Mississippi State updates, give his thoughts about the teams and highlight State athletes. In the beginning, that meant finding pictures online and posting for a few hundred followers.
A few months later, Gavin realized the page needed original content. He organized a graphic design contest where followers could submit graphics of Mississippi State players and have the audience vote on their favorites.
One of those submissions came from John Swinney, who was only a few years older than Gavin. John created a graphic using apps on his phone and ended up winning the contest.
Gavin eventually brought John onto StarkVegas Report to help run the page and handle graphic design. From there, the account began to grow quickly.
The early growth
From a fan page
to a community.
By the time Gavin and John were finishing high school, StarkVegas Report had grown to more than 20,000 followers.
The page interviewed people connected throughout the Mississippi State and SEC community, including Elijah MacNamee, Jordan Westburg, Nick Fitzgerald, and Peter Burns of the SEC Network.
StarkVegas Report also worked with local businesses including Maroon & Co. and The Bellsmith.
What started as a seventh grader sharing Mississippi State updates had become something far bigger than either of its original creators expected.
The experience also helped open doors for both of them. John eventually became Director of Content for the Mississippi State football program, while Gavin also worked with the football program before later transitioning into a corporate sales career.

A new website brings expanded original content, game information and statistics, with more fan resources and campus tools in development.

StarkVegas Report entered a new era in 2023. In September 2026, the platform began a major rebuild focused on creating a better digital experience for Mississippi State fans.

Today, StarkVegas Report combines original content with schedules, statistics, standings, game information and historical features that make following Mississippi State easier.
Campus resources, parking information, fan guides and future interactive tools are part of the work ahead. Features still in development will be made available as they are ready.

Verified reporting is separated from staff analysis, and opinion is labeled clearly. Anonymous sourcing will be rare and explained when its use is necessary.

External facts, statistics, schedules, quotations and media are attributed. Data-driven features identify their source and update time whenever that context matters.
