Bulldogs extend their in state run with a shutout
Mississippi State scored twice in each half and defeated Southern Miss 4 to 0 at the MSU Soccer Field. Laila Murillo and Kati Anne Shepherd each scored twice. The Bulldogs outshot Southern Miss 21 to 3. State allowed one shot on goal and recorded its second shutout of the season.
Scoring twice in each half kept this from becoming a match State merely tried to see out. The shot advantage tells you how much more often the Bulldogs put the opposition under pressure. A coach will still look at the quality of those chances, not just the count, but four finishes and one opposing shot on goal make a convincing combination.
